Filtrona plc ("Filtrona") today announces the appointment of Lars Emilson, who recently retired as Chief Executive of Rexam plc, to its Board as a Non-executive Director with effect from 1 May 2007.

In accordance with Listing Rules 9.6.13 (1) Lars Emilson has advised that he
has been appointed a director of the following company:-

Rexam plc (resigned 1 February 2007).

Lars Emilson confirms that there are no other details to be disclosed under
Listing Rule 9.6.13 (2) to (6).

As at the date of this announcement Lars Emilson does not have any interest in
ordinary shares in Filtrona plc.
